How to set a homepage in Microsoft Edge: step by step
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Select Settings and more (three dots at the top right), then Settings.
- In the left menu, select Start, home, and new tab page.
- Turn on Show home button on the toolbar.
- Choose New tab page to open Edge’s new tab page, or choose Enter URL and type the full web address, for example
https://nytech.in, then save.
Now click the home icon on the toolbar to jump to that page. To make the whole browser your default, read how to set a default browser on Windows.
How do I make Edge open a specific site on startup?
The home button and the startup page are separate settings. In the same Start, home, and new tab page area, Edge has a “When Edge starts” section where you can pick what opens at launch. Microsoft’s linked help article covers the home button only, so check this section in your own Edge version.
- Update Edge from Settings → About Microsoft Edge.
- Microsoft says these steps apply to the new Edge; the older “legacy” Edge has separate instructions.
- On a work PC, an administrator policy may lock the homepage.
- Mac and mobile menus differ; Microsoft’s article does not list them, so use Edge’s own Settings search.
